Mr. Etherington moved to Georgina in 1970. After 23 years of banking experience, both in Scotland and Canada, he opened his own Insurance Brokerage Company. His volunteer and community experiences have included work with the Georgina Family Life Centre, the Richmond Hill Credit Counselling Service, the Kinsmen and the Sutton Curling Club. He currently serves on the Board of the Georgina Trades Training Inc. He served as the South East Region's representative on the Ontario Association of Community Futures Development Corporations. Mr. Etherington joined the Board of the Georgina Association for Business in 1987 and assumed the position of Chair in 1997. He was the first Chair and is a founding member of the Board of South Lake CFDC.
